I guess it is a concept that seems dated and uncool now days, but I was wondering about this: Do you have a hero, in the old fashioned, 1950's sense of somebody you admire? I don't guess it really means much more than that, or does it imply something more than that?
All day today between doing laundry, driving to the train station, walking the dog, etc, etc, I have been watching clips on youtube of various interviews and debates with Christopher Hitchens. I find this guy fascinating and my "role model"... er hero?
Anybody else?

Dennis Bergkamp is one of them, Leo Tolstoy is another. There are a few more.

Hmmm, so is that what happened? Did the "Me Generation" come along and steal the idea of hero worship for itself?
It does seem an outdated notion, but I do think it is hardwired into us. Like most things it intrigues me most because I know we like to deny it.

If Tiger taught me one thing it was to fuck em all.
Army of one is how you roll... rob, steal, and cheat from everyone else.
Btw... Tiger didn't teach me shit, my old man did.

The only things my old man taught me were nigger jokes, how to torment my mother and how to make jailhouse wine in a potato chip bag.

I have admired Ralph Nader for a very long time.
