i am not really that well schooled on that genre, but things have caught my ears...
Heroin
Daughters, for sure, i saw them open for Cattle Decapitation, and they blew me away, the set of the night.
Plague Bringer is a really good drum machine, grind type band...
Cuddle, from Los Angeles, they are hard to describe, but really good.
on the more mainstream side, Cursive, as much as i HATE to admit it, that album, Domestica, really rocks... the drums on it are fucking great! so, for that, i guess they don't entirely suck.
I really like the the old grind, as far as this mathcore, screamo, i don't really get it... it's all emo, to me, the pop of today... they're are exceptions, for sure, (DEP, botch, more i am sure) like i said, i am no expert, just my two cents...

Probably less than %10 of the metal I listen to I would classify as something relating to the screamo genre. I'm much more into old style grind for the most part. Fast harsh and noisy. Anal Cunt, Flesh parade, ANb, old Napalm Death, Deche-Charge, Fetus Eaters, Phobia, Hemdale, Last Days Of Humanity, Arsedestroyer, Excruciating Terror, Despise You ect.
You've probably already heard the Locust, They play spazzy shit similar to Daughters but with more synth parts. Check out Ghenghis Tron, Really ripping shit that could kind of fall in as metalcore grind mixed with electronic music..all their drums are programmed. One band that really stands out is Converge...heads and shoulders above the metalcore heap.
Dipshit above me is pissed off because I made fun of his favorite tuff guy band. He probably thinks of Earth Crisis and One Life Crew as "old school hardcore bands"

Earth Crisis sucked and I personally never considered them a hardcore band. One Life Crew were amazing and Mean Steve was a very good friend of mine. Ive been around the scene for years and know the deal. I grew up on AF,Warzone, Cro-Mags, Bad Brains, SOIA, Black Flag , Circle Jerks, Suicidal Tendencies,DRI, Discharge...you get the picture. You started this shit and I retorted. So I like Full Blown Chaos, so what. The only band in your whole ramble that I find worth a flop of fuck is Napalm Death. They stayed vital and relevant their entire career.
and in my humble opinion, ANYONE that finds any musical value in Converge can suck my ass til my fuckin' head caves in.
