i kinda mentioned i had some affiliation there, but it's something that probably is only going to impress the wrong people. or make me fax copies of my diloma to strangers on a porn board who doubt the veracity of my claim or are cagey, nigerian and will steal my identity. i don't care where people went to school, there are a bunch of people brighter than any of my friends there who are now doing impressive things like playing hockey in iowa or meeting with a probation officer for being so fucked up they walked into a police car, drove it in reverse for 15 feet then was suprised to be arrested at gunpoint. i'll probably end up going back to be a poor-man's arab/be a lawyer. i pulled a buzzer-beating deferral this fall thanks to a note from my wildly unscrupulous shrink/adderall vending machine. can you tell i feel like a douchebag talking about this?
generally, talking about the fact you went to college is heinous adt stuff, but i hate this chick. like monkey hates jrv without the sexual part. she was like 2 years behind me, showed up with attitude to a place with enough weird peripheral-royalty euros and kids with tickets to their local sports franchise because their dad owns it. the novelty wore off for most people fast-she's not cute, acted like an entitled bitch, and took a spot from someone more qualified who probably wanted to be there and would have graduated(i'm not sure if she did). halfway through her first year she annoyed enough of the quasi-frat i was in that it became a game to make her wait with the rest of the elite plebians.

I don't know why you would be averse to saying you went to Harvard, I posted an old topic asking where everyone went to school, if they did because I am curious and to see if anyone went to one of mine. Information is not harmful if there is no attitude that goes along with it. College isn't everything but if you went you should be ok with it. There are tons of people who didn't go who are both smarter and more successful than those who did- no big deal. I can tell you really don't like NP, but even if she is a bitch I think i would still like to have sex with her

college is basically based on how with-it you were from 14-17 and education and income of your parents, i'm with you on that one. the thing is, there are better schools but when you say "harvard" some people dedicate their lives to proving that doesn't mean you're always right. i'm wrong all the time. it just brings out weird shit in people or gets brought up way too much. it doesn't have too many morons, that's about it.
on to more important things---i'm considering a future as a vampire and will be a few days from vlad's castle after xmas. i'd miss some skiing to become the undead if you've got any tips. why are people afraid of vampires? i'd actively seek them out to be able to be able to fly around and cause panic and bloodshed when i was bored at places like the DMV. plus, it's dark at like 4pm here so i don't think SAD is an issue.

i missed your post above arab but you ended up at chicago for law school, correct? i'm pretty sure i couldn't have got in there, i never went to classes i didn't like but did freakishly well in a few which doesn't erase a B- in watercolors. if you've gone, grad school is the better measure of what you can do as a grownup anyhow. there are so many kids at harvard that showed up as perfectly trained seals, whose parents must have used cattle prods to push them through 18 extracurricular activities and were little grownups on a mission when they left middle school. they'll always be able to find decent work, but the juggling bear act they did to get into college was their defining moment. you can spot these guys fast--they're the adults who you know aren't exceptional in their field yet you somehow hear they went to any ivy within the first conversation with them.
i kind of figured out pretty early that the fix was in on college admissions going to a fancy boarding/reform school. it was fun, there were lots of dumb kids with roots to the mayflower to start blowing heroin with at 15. some of them were simpletons, yet somehow they'd get into colgate or ucla. i had decent grades, mid 1500's(admittedly i was the first year after they recentered ;em) was able to play a little lacrosse, came from a known school with a known admission's officer(they're like #1 pitchers or rock stars for private schools)was a legacy and my mom buys office buildings. so around half of the criteria that got me in were totally out of my control, you can't will rich parents or choose what school they pay for at 14. shitloads of kids just as smart and smarter apply and get rejected without basically irrelevant shit like that. harvard's endowment is absurd-absurd enough to send over a decade of students through for free without reducing their operating budget. i'm glad they've taken me twice, but it's just not good policy to not take the kids with the most potential in favor of hoarding billions of dollars to secretly buy parts of surrounding cities up. life isn't fair, but at least there's some flexibility in paths to your ultimate caste and the system gets it right the next time around at the graduate level on talented people they fucked a few years earlier. it's more impressive to go from umass to harvard than vice-versa.
