I clicked an efukt link here at home once and watched a vid. I forgot about the livejasmin pop-under they open. I bailed on the video after less than a minute but the livejasmin thing was still running underneath.

I commenced reading whatever I was reading and before too much time went by it had sapped all my satellite bandwidth and I was shut down by hughesnet.

Do the satellite internet providers still have their unrealistically low bandwidth limits?

Yes they do.

Think about it... There's only one router out there floating in outer space. They are serving (not catering to) people with no alternative. Most of their customers are unsophisticated and are only using news sites and email.

It's a bad fit for people who actually know what's out there.

What about transfer speeds?

Downloads are okay and uploads though slower are rarely a problem because face it, once you press "send" you don't really give a shit.

Latency is an issue, which is the lag time for your requests to get radioed to space, radioed back to the mothership in Houston, and actually piped onto the net.

I don't recommend it except as a last resort.
