“Hello everyone this is Karen Stephens, Owner of Florida 1st Models. I had a phone discussion today with Gene Ross of AdultFYI.com hoping to get some assistance in getting my models paid for shoots done for Craig Valentine. The result was an insulting article on AdultFYI written by Gene. Well I see that Gene is one sided individual and seeing that he did not ask to speak to any of the models in question then I have decided to write this.
Nor has Gene asked to speak to any of my models that he has wrote about in prior articles from Craig’s point of view. Also because I see that it is fruitless to call Gene – which I have and he now isn’t returning my calls. I always believed that a true journalist sought out all sides to a story…hmmm must have been incorrect.”
Gene comments: Since I’ve only been at this for 40 years, I guess I need pointers where I can get ‘em from people like Stephens who have been toiling their trade for months. But here’s the deal. Stephens contacts me by e-mail:

Now because Valentine is a colorful character and gives colorful quotes and soundbites, I use them. Which is what a true journalist does, but Stephens calls it “insulting”.
If you read between the lines of her diatribe, this whole thing’s really about Stephens wanting to get the last word in and use me as her tool because Valentine referred to her as being a fat, 300 pound woman. Which is not my fault if she is.
So I decided, as true journalists sometimes do, that I wasn’t going to chase quotes down alleys which lead to nowhere because another thing Stephens forgets is, ah, this story has already been aired on Adultfyi, and I’m growing a little bored with it myself. I figure if I’m bored, the rest of the audience is in a pine box by now. But if Stephens feels this is Watergate, and Valentine is Nixon, perhaps she should also realize there’s an incriminating 18 minutes of one of her girls snorting coke. Allegedly.
Valentine posts as only Valentine can: “Well know Karen is bashin you wheni get back from jersey I will capture the video of the coke whore on set trying ot get coke form everyone and send you the clip as well as the one with her in my lockerroom trying to get everyone ot buy her underage ass liqure.”
In a conversation with Steve Seidman, Steve provides some further insights into Stephens’ operation.
“When I first came down and met this Karen, I didn’t say a fuckin’ thing about being a partner [which is what Stephens claimed in her interview] cause I wouldn’t be a partner with her,” states Seidman.
“She wanted to do things her way. Her way is having girls going to shoots with yeast infections and smelly pussies. She don’t tell the girls what they’re going to shoot. The reason she was looking at me, she wanted to use my LA contacts.
"When I told her straight out that things were slow she didn’t believe me. And I also said I’m not going to send a drug addict out to LA. She said I’m going to send them out anyway. Maybe last week or the week before Craig gets a phone call from Jim South saying that Karen had talked to him saying that Craig was bad mouthing Jim South. I called Jim. This is all bullshit. This lady is just trying to stir the pot up. She was educated by Brian [from Giirlz Inc.] who doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground. The bottom line is this girl is crazy. This is absolutely moronic."
“It’s funny,” Seidman continues. “I took a new girl to Bang Bros the other day, and I saw this Karen. She totally ignored me. But she’s telling these girls that she’s got contacts for them. Jesus Christ. She don’t have shit. No one even knows this lady. All of a sudden she thinks she’s God’s gift to the world because she knows how to do this and she knows how to do that. She knows how to take money from people. And that’s it.
"The bottom line, Craig had told her from the time of the shoot that they get paid on the Friday after 30 days. Meanwhile she’s bugging him for a commission. She’s even trying to get a commission from girls who didn’t even shoot. Or like Craig had a shoot with one girl and a camera broke. He brought her right back. There was no shoot. Well Karen wants commission on that. A girl wants to get paid for a scene she hasn’t completed.
"Give me a fuckin’ break. The lady’s crazy and when you’re hurting for money that’s what you do. You make up fucking stories. She even sent out pictures of a girl I was representing. At one time we were splitting money on commissions but I had no problem with that. If that’s a partnership.”
“You got a cast of characters down there,” I tell Seidman.
“Take a look at the industry black list, Jesus Christ,” Seidman laughs. “By the way, Eli’s back here in Florida. There were enough death threats with him being out in California. It’s absolutely ridiculous. The cast of characters down here, it’s amazing.”
