Oh. Well, here's some shit to make you sad again. A dumbass couple decided to keep a llama as a pet in bear country. So a couple of young bears came along the other day and ripped it to shreds and then buried the carcass for later.



One of them came back for its meal, and the llama owner decided to kill it.

What kind of redneck hillbilly fucktard keeps a llama as a pet?

I don't know that clown. I know that Mike Hunt used to have a show on public access TV in Seattle that showed completely uncensored pornography. I remember flipping thru the channels in my hotel room one night and suddenly there were a couple of people fucking on T.V.

Here's some info about another llama in Alaska. This is Obama the llama, playing with a dog. He was later attacked and killed by 3 other dogs.



Here are some comments from his owner:

"[The dogs] chased him down and mauled him to death," said owner Carol Martin.

Obama was still alive when Martin found him, so Martin called a veterinarian. The vet came out and treated the wounded Obama.

Martin said he swelled up and suffocated.

"It's really, really gruesome," Martin said.

Obama's full name was Obama the Llama With No Mama -- his mother died while giving birth to him.

"He was a friendly little guy," Martin said. "He thought dogs were his friends."

That is horrible. Llamas are obviously not domestic animals.

Are they just dreadfully stupid? I see a sheep or a goat hanging out there and there is no mention of it getting hurt.

Maybe they need some kind of breed of Shepard dog. I have only had australian shepards and welsh corgis and neither were the mauly type. Also what is a corgi gonna do to anyone?

From reading an article about the traumatic event, one of the goats was also killed by the dogs. I guess the problem has more to do with packs of loose dogs than it does stupid llamas.

Martin said he’d like to see more awareness, and fewer dogs running wild, in the future.

But that won’t bring Obama back, so he’s making do.

Martin skinned Obama the llama and salvaged some of the prime cuts.

“Llama and goat are comparable, and they’re better than spring lamb,” he said.

The death means that Martin couldn’t bring Obama to the Stanley Ford event, where Obama was scheduled to entertain guests.

Now he’ll have to replace Obama with a different animal “and I guess tell everybody that Obama the llama got killed,” he said.

But there are still signs of life at Diamond M.

During a farm tour on Wednesday, a new llama was born, a black-and-white baby boy, like Obama.

Does Alaska really have roving packs of wild dogs?

These guys are African but I think wild dogs in africa are probably the same as in north america.

I've never seen any, but they might be more common in rural areas and near farms. Also, they weren't "wild dogs," they were loose pets. Frankly, with all the wild bears, wolves, coyotes, lynx, etc. up here, I don't see how people can keep any farm animals alive.

The big thing in Anchorage lately has been people keeping live chickens in their yard. Some people in my neighborhood have started doing this and I'm just waiting for a story about the chickens being eaten by black bears.

Maybe you can get some fresh eggs out of one of your neighbors before their chickens get "poached".

I'm just happy that they sell locally farmed eggs at the store now. I had no idea how much better they are. They also look better when you cook them. Old eggs spread all over the pan. Fresh eggs stay together, like this:
