Funny, but I was asked this exact question earlier this week while a guest speaker for a Human Sexualities class (at a local community college) .. Obviously, the class wasn't too into the "sexuality" aspect of the industry if they're asking how I came-up with my stage name?! lol But I understand your curiousity cockafunya, and hope this thread develops some interesting and perhaps some 'truthful' responses.

Before filming my first video in 1994, I was already dancing (stripping) under the name "Shane" .. While growing-up, mostly as a "tom-boy" in the D.C. area and the farm-lands of Texas, "Shane" (short for Shannon) was already a nickname.

I had planned on using just "Shane" when I shot my first scene, but Ariana reminded me that Seymore & Shane were becoming popular around the same time and someone may get us confused .. although I doubt it highly, since she's much hotter that I am! So, I was going to add the name "Tyler" (to represent my TX roots) to the front of my name, but again Ariana reminded me that there was already a 'Taylor Wayne' active in the industry, and again someone may get us confused. Again, I doubt it .. my tits were and still are 100% Natural!! lol So, I simply switched the Tyler to the back of my nickname and came-up with Shane Tyler.
It's as simple as that!
