I cannot comment on the back story. It is still an active investigation. The Phoenix District Attorney and Detectives I have talked to are still working the case. Elms, from what I understand, remains in a Phoenix jail facing serious multiple felonies.

Burg's rule of thumb (or penis) when it comes to whores: Do your own homework....dont endorse or recommend, or even BLAB about real specifics with anyone unless you know and trust that person on more than a casual level. And likewise, only accept recommendations or endorsements from people you trust emphatically. TOO much shit can go wrong or happen in this sordid business (and in this fucked up world in general.)
Let me try again......I would never drop $$$ (or a load) on a bimbo based solely on something I read on a website. Just do your own homework, scouting, reconnaisance, bloodwork/tests, etc....

This is so funny. On Friday I was talking shop with an old friend. She said what a shame it was that Elms got off the last time. I told her with his crack-addled brain and sense of entitlement it wouldn't be long before he was in jail again for something worse...and lo and behold, but a day later, he's in the clink.
When I was working, I lived in perpetual fear that I would get the phone call from him informing me that I would need to hop on the next plane to L.A. to retain my good TER standing. Thank God I wasn't his type. Nobody should underestimate the power of TER to make or break a girl's business. There are some women in niche markets who can do without if they're smart and have a good grasp of marketing, but let's face it, most sex workers are none too bright. And there are many men out there (500,000 if Elms's claims are to be believed) that will continue to patronize the system because it works for them. It's kind of weird to me that they're terrified of screening and agencies but have no problems turning their cc #s and IP addresses over to someone who I think would be very eager to cooperate to improve his present situation, but whatever.
I hope that this time, the charges will stick, but I'm not going to hold my breath. I suspect he has some kind of you scratch my back/I'll scratch yours arrangement with the Feds. The silver lining in the cloud is that, with each slap on the wrist further emboldening his behavior, eventually he'll go a step too far with someone who is an even looser cannon than he is. And then it will be curtains for Mr. Elms.
And to Burg's point, I don't understand the pride of hobbyists in self-identifying as such. As I've said before, it's like shooting fish in a barrel. There's no challenge, so all the high fives and back slapping is a little misplaced. They should take up real hobbies, like ikebana or building model trains.

I've never looked at TER closely so maybe someone can answer this: How many current or recent porn stars were openly featured on it? How many from the big talent agencies like LA Direct and the rest? I can't say I'm uber surprised to hear this; when news broke that the big talent agencies were joining together "to unionize" I figured it would be a matter of time before some big issue with porn stars escorting came up (I figured Federal tax evasion charges before anything with the Vitter/Spitzer scandals...but this is kind of fucked up beyond that level). Given this news, I'm just surprised some of the agencies without strong escort ties (*ahem* Spieglers *cough*) would want to join up with those with strong ones (*cough* LA Direct *cough* Shy Love *margh*). I know the talent agencies want to form some sort of coalition for negotiating industry rates, but it is worth getting caught up together with shit like this? Just seems like something ripe for a Federal RICO indictment with everyone joining up together and getting hit at once, despite how active each (if at all) are with escorting their starlets.

To answer your questions, many current and recent porn stars are openly featured on it. As for how many are represented by LA Direct, do a search of their porn board. I think you'll find that porn stars who *don't* escort are in the minority.
