So, I've been trying to work this out but I thought I'd ask somewhere I might be able to find an answer.
So, I've only ever bought any adult dvds twice - both from play.com. They were "10 Hard Porn Films" and "15 Adult XXX Box Set". They both cost a little under £10.
However, when I watched the DVDs, they show absolutely nothing - camera angles hide the action (that obviously isnt real anyway) and I dont see how they can be classified as 'hard' or 'XXX'.
Anyway, so I was wondering, is that something to do with living in the UK, or is there somewhere else I can look online?

The only legal way to sell hardcore porn DVDs in the UK is to get them classified by the BBFC with an R18 certificate and to sell them on the premises of a licensed sex shop. Any UK-based operation selling porn DVDs over the internet is either operating illegally, or passing off censored crap as real porn. It's possible to order the real thing from companies based outside the UK, but then there's always the risk of customs hassle (though I hear they tend to let it through these days.)
The internet is your friend. Most stuff on DVD is also available in decent quality from the producers websites or VOD sites. If you really must have it playable on a DVD player, there is software that makes it easy to transcode & burn.

You got them off of Amazon, didn't you? 
There are plenty of companies that will send you in hardcore from abroad, and as long as it is of comparable strength to what is legally available in licensed stores, then the fascists at Her Majesty's Customs can't do a fucking thing about it!
For UK-owned companies (that are based overseas) I would first try R18 Shop, or possibly Blissbox, although they are quite expensive compared to R18 Shop.
There are plenty of reputable US-based online retailers (like Adult DVD Empire who will happily post stuff over to you, but if your order is over a certain monetary amount then Customs will hit you with financial charges.

I've not ordered from them myself (I tend to source stuff from the US), but all of the feedback I have heard has been overwhelmingly positive...they should be able to answer any questions you have, and the guy who runs it (Alex) is a regular poster on http://www.bgafd.co.uk...they're even having a free prize draw for for a copy of Rob Stone's latest flick 'Trash Whores', signed and smooched by the lovely Miyah.
