Zen, if you do a traceroute and send packets to chaosunlimited.com, the upstream is the domain the packets pass through just before hitting chaosunlimited.com. In this case, that's alter.net, which is owned by uunet.

If you're using a Win box, open the console and type
tracert chaosunlimited.com
You'll see route the packets take as they travel to chaosunlimited.com.

For those using *n*x, the command is "traceroute".
