Note that they fixed the problem with the spam by removing me from the Weekly Fix mailing list. But then they went a step further and deactivated my account, which had nothing to do with the spam.

I think deactivation at ADT is Pavlovian. Whenever there's a problem, they've trained themselves to deactivate someone. They may not even be aware anymore that they're doing it.
