They just launched their new newsletter, the "Weekly Fix".

Firstly, they decided to put the tag SEXUALLY-EXPLICIT: in the subject line, an absolute sure-fire way to get it labelled as spam by any automatic filtering system. (I've received over 1500 emails with that in the subject line over the past year. Until now every single one had been completely unsolicited.)

Secondly, they appear to have sent it out to their entire list of registered users. This would actually be perfectly reasonable if they had a newsletter from the word go, but consider... over the past 5+ years, how many people have registered at ADT, used the site briefly, then forgotten about it? Quite a few I'm willing to bet. How do you think someone who did that years ago will react to this email? They may not even remember ever registering at ADT.

They've already had spam complaints made to their upstream provider.
