i think pity is luke's huge wooden horse(normal gift) to get himself into troy with women. i think i've read he's rode the nurturing instinct into boning kendra jade back in the day, maybe some other ones. if you've got thick skin or were born without shame, it's a brilliant strategy playing the stray-puppy role--it totally removes the need to impress chicks with stuff that costs money, wit, job, etc.
