I respected her for staying true to what she believed in, but nothing else. Of course her cause was full of shit -- but at least she stayed true to it unlike so many people who tend to sway with the fucking wind.
When you heard Dworkin's name -- you knew what she stood for. I think she actually believed that she was trying to help women... unlike some prick politician or religious leader who is clearly doing it for their own personal or monetary gain.
I will miss her for that reason alone.
There is a word for staying true to ones convictions in light of all actual evidence pointing away from your personal belief...
The word is insane.
Of course, it is also easy to stick to your believes when there are plenty of people that REALLY WANT what you're saying to be true and are willing to pay you handsomely** for your writing and speeches, even though again, not based in any fact whatsoever.
