I don't know much about the porn world - from Ashley Blue's chat it sounds like lots of girls are on drugs? Is this true? Do many girls treat it like a real job? Like you can always get involved behind the camera and in production as well. I'd regard it seriously although I think females have a different mindset to males. I think the porn industry is becoming so much more mainstream now and much more accepted within the community rather than being regarded as a shady industry with lots of dodgy people. I think it will only get bigger and I think the "dodginess" will be forced out. Already I think I heard that the porn industry makes heaps more money than Hollywood although I don't think much of this gets back to the stars who I think are only paid a one off fee
Despite the 'mainstraming' of porn, it still remains an outlaw industry. Yes, several men and women do drugs in the porn industry - as do many actors in Hollywood, as do many musicians, painters, writers, etc. I guess if I were to defend the industry regarding its reputation of wide spread drug use, I would say it's due to the fact that we're really dealing with a community of artists that happen to be just as artistic in their efforts as those I named above. Now, if I were to argue the other way I would say that the tramps have were born to lose from the get go because of......nah, I won't today. Regarding behind the scenes work, yes there are lots of jobs, but you generally need to know someone to get it and have real discipline...well at least most of the time. A good amount of performers lack this virtue. You also jotted out something about porn out grossing Hollywood?? Not at all dude, not at all. An easy way to figure this out (though I don't see why anyone would have to) is to look at the on average salaries of Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise and Arnold Swhateveregger. Contrast that sum (topping 100 million?) against films that they star in with a general rule of profitability, and you're talking big bucks. Anyway you look at it, Hollywood as an industry has - and will probably - always trampled on porn revenues. There are dodgy people in porn, don't kid yourself. Fianlly, you touched upon royalties in fuck scenes. There are none at the moment, save Jenna Jameson and here I'm assuming that maybe she's getting a piece of the action. Unless you have a top notch lawyer negotiating your contract (like you do in Hollywood because it truly is a larger than large industry with economics dictating the performers salary/royalty) you will not recieve a cut.
