Just want to say hi to everyone. I have been a long time lurker but a discussion...moreso a debate the other night on whether todays current crop of porn stars really have any acting ability.

To give you more background, I graduated from film school about three years ago. I still keep in contact with those I graduated with and I always get ribbed because when I was in school, I always said that porn stars would make great actors. Now I know that not all can act, shit, not all can even do a decent fuck scene. But I still firmly believe that with the right cast that has acting potential, that porn star can be successful in a mainstream film. I dont think that will be as big as the top names but they sure as hell can be more successful than most in Hollywood. Havign the huge ego that I do, I got suckered in a gentlemen's bet of $1 that I could take any one of the scripts I have finished and cast a porn star or two in one of the roles and be succssful with it. Now when I define success, I dont mean a $200M blockbuster but more so, something that is coherent and tangible in acting and presentation.

So I am a couple months away from serious pre-production and was wondering who do you all think has the most acing potential among todays crop? Mind you, this film will be shown at Sundance and other festivals so it wont be any porn (maybe some nudity but no hardcore sex)? So far, the girls I think that would be good actresses are Sammie Rhodes, Melissa Lauren, Porsha Blaze, and definitely Tianna Lynn. Its just something about these girls that has star appeal about them. Maybe even Britney Madison or that Madison chick I have seen floating on different sites.

If this is marketed right, this film could be a huge success. Not only would mainstream viewers watch it, but then you have the crossover porn crowd that would watch it to see her either succeed or fall on her face. Add a couple political and religious protests of the film and you have a money maker.

I am currently in the mid-west and will probably shooting the location somewhere around Ohio or thereabouts.

If there are any performers who really think they can act and are interested in a mainstream production without having to fuck anyone, drop me a line and maybe we can schedule a reading.

ABSOLUTELY!! There are a solid group of Adult Stars who are more then capable delivering dialog in a professional manner.



I cast a lot of Adult Stars in the late night cable market place.



In my opinion adult stars who can act are: Chloe, Randy Spears [one of the best], Steven St. Croix, Dee, Shayla LaVeaux, Ava Vincent [when on track], Syren, jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Michelle Lay and many many others. And they are believable with the characters they play.



I just completed a series for HBO/Cinemax and out of 136 actors both from adult and mainstream...HBO choose CHLOE as the series lead. Now some of you might think they choose her because being a series regular she would have to perform multiple sex scenes. NO...the role was dialog driven and overall her character only had 3 sexual scenarios in 13 episodes.

Does it really matter which pornstar you cast? I worked with Jasmine St.Claire about 4 years ago and she did just fine. Get anyone and direct the hell out of them.

Second I don't think it matters if they can act in mainstream movies. No one is really looking for them at the cineplex.
Hollywood and porn are two completely different worlds. A mainstream movie will never have enough sex in it to satisfy my thirst for flesh. Also I found pornos that try to mick hollywood storytelling has me bored and fast forwarding to the humping parts.
