Hustler Video Signs Mason to Exclusive Directing Deal

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Edgy, critically acclaimed director Mason has signed an exclusive directing deal in which she will direct 12 productions for Hustler Video in the next 12 months.

Mason, previously with Elegant Angel and most recently Platinum X Pictures, told AVN.com,“After meeting with [Hustler Video Vice-President In Charge Of Production] Kat Slater, I knew this was going to be a great opportunity for me. She’s one of the most passionate people I have ever met and completely committed to what I feel is an amazing vision for the company. I had to be a part of it. Larry Flynt has been a huge idol of mine for many years. Just to work for him is truly awesome.”

In a statement, Slater said, “Mason is smart, honest and passionate as hell. So her movies have a little bit of spit involved (wink)… it’s all about the context. And Mason’s got a whole lot of context! And a damn good understanding of horny sex, too. I’ve admired her work for years and am elated she’s batting one — or should I say 12? — for the Hustler team now.”

Mason will begin shooting her first Hustler production next week.

Mason is not only a bad ass director she is superhuman cool and as Joey Silvera would say she "means it" when she directs. Hustler is lucky to have this girl.

He's saying that while there is a possibility Mason may get to do some “creative releases”, that's not the point and probably not gonna happen?

So just what DOES Anabolic have in mind? Un-creative releases? Cookie-cutter extension of existing checklist-driven series?

This isn't what you hire Mason for. She's not the one if your focus is quantity over quality. This may just be Anabolic trying to keep her focused on the need to get more than one release a year, but to explicitly state that "creative releases” is not important and not a likelihood is ... hard to understand.

I'm not sure what caused this thread bump, but how could a porn director make a living off one release a year anyway?
