Not that anyone outside of Australia and New Zealand cares, but we lost a music legend this weekend. 46 year old Paul Hester, former drummer with the band Crowded House, was found dead in a Melbourne park this weekend. He had apparently hanged himself after reportedly suffering depression in recent years.
Hester quit Crowded House in 1994 and reinvented himself as a drummer for hire, as well as becoming active in radio and television with regular spots on variety shows such as Martin/Molloy and the Mick Molloy Show.
Neil and Tim Finn, Hester's two best friends and the other half of Crowded House, were due to commence a Finn Brothers tour tomorrow but have now postponed their gigs.
Hessie leaves behind a partner and two young daughters, and a legion of fans who will miss his artistic talents and quick wit.
Paul Hester - we salute you and you will never be forgotten. Rest in peace friend.
