They're somewhere around 7,000, but they only get 2,500 hits per day. I know of other web sites that get around 100,000 hits per day but are way below the 7,000 mark.

I agree with Lord, the Alexa rating is shabby. It's not like T.V. (wired with a Nielson box) or radio (paid to complete an Arbitron book). These are computers. Computers that are constantly re-worked, re-thought and generally fucked with by its users. Unless everyone makes their counter available (if they have one) we will never know the truth.
By the way, why does it matter if a site is ranked high or not? Doesn't mean they're making money either way.

My friend who runs a satellite web site in the Uk, told me about Alexa. His web site frequently jumps from being 9,000 (most popular) to 2 million down the line...in the space of seven days. That is how shite Alexa is.

Lord Byron, I will come back this week and we'll both figue out how to get a more accuate stats on the industry traffic. I thank you for bringing this up and together we will come up with a better product.. Thanks Lord for being very concern and I'm glad you're going to help.

The easy reply to that is we do not need a stats site. Only the guys running their web sites know their true traffic and unique hits. You can read the shite on Alexa till the proverbial cows cum home but it don't add up to two beans' worth.
