It's all a point of view...I always say when asked "where are we going tonight?"
my answer ...to gain some perspective. then I pile 'em in the truck and
drive 'em to the river... it's a powerful motherfucker. moves rocks as big as houses, yep. the moon casts across the water the breeze and the radio
playin' sour grain over and over until someone finally says "change the goddamn song!" I like to see how long that takes.. as far as the
fun can strain it usually. but points of views...they get me thru...I'm a
real easy bloke, but let a scrubber start barkin' orders and I go deaf.
it just aint worthit. dance to your own tune I always say. but don't let
anything own you...ol' AC is half way around the block, you'll get there
keep chooglin' son. hell if I'm going to waste my time arguing with any
text, if I can't get my fist around their throat when it strikes me... I tend
to go through life in the path of the least resistence.

I added my two cents to the thread. Figured it was as good as any place to start, although I sort of regret doing it. When I have to think and type that much a lot of what I want to say doesn't come out as I had hoped. I would have just deleted it if I didn't think it would look worse. Whatever. I still think I was somewhat successful in expressing some of my opinions, all the while teetering on being flat-out insulting, which of course may have resulted in a ban or e-mail.
Of course all of this doesn't mean a goddamn thing. I brought up the 'bono-ONE, Ariana thread-closure topic'. I'm sure that will in no way be addressed. Hell, if I was them I wouldn't address it either. There's really no debating around that one. Now that we know what we know, B.O. clearly showed personal agenda.
One thing I did notice while posting there is how uncomfortable I felt. I don't think I'll make it a habit - I don't care what the topic is or what I could in anyway add to it.
Also, I wonder who Sportcow is? I think I have an idea, but I'll keep it to myself.

In the short amount of time I've posted here I've seen a handful of regulars from there sign up here -- canadianjersey, vincevega, noahped, bono, morbidthoughts (your welcome), FF Button and most recently Cobalt60. Cobalt's a riot and will be a great addition.
Hopefully this trend will continue. I don't mean this in a "Haha, that'll show those fuckers kind of way". I mean that I hope more people will figure out why this place is great. And whether they're the interesting people from ADT or not, they'll add something to this place -- good or bad. If what they add is bad, it's almost better. I think we all know why, too.
What I tried -- and I stress tried -- to state in my poorly written tirade over at ADT was that I seriously don't get what people find so offensive and threatening about this place. Really, it's mind boggling that people who post about double anal and piss fetishes are actually offended by some of what they read here. It's like preferring the comedy styling of Elayne Boosler over Richard Pryor. Who are these people?
edited to add that marduk (assuming he's the same one from ADT) just signed up as I was typing this.

The difference as I see it as that if you post anything over there you have a lingering thought in the back of your mind as to whether or not you will be banned or the post will be deleted or the thread locked. If you post something out of line here, other users will quickly and efficiently cut your nuts off and hand them to you.
Cobalt I know you don't want to believe it, but Steph herself said she was tired of meatholes/midnight prowl threads, I can't remember which one - and that she was considering locking them all because they all lead to the same discussion. WTF is that?

The fuck if I know what the fuck that or anything else is, but I can sympathize with that. There's only so many ways that conversation can go.
    
   
As for what I believe, that's a slippery slope. That's mutable.
1) I do try to shake people's trees a little, once in a while, to see what falls out so we don't get complacent, self included.
And hopefully, people are ready, willing and able to call bullshit on me and defend their views, especially if they pipe in with some smug "well, this is how it is and if you think otherwise, you're a jackass."
So what, everybody knows that! Now, convince me what you say is true!
I like having bullshit called on me; keeps me on my toes. And it's funny! Setting people up so they can knock it out of the park is half the fun.
But yeah, a lot of discussions just fizzle or are dead ends to beging with...and that's natural. It's still fun to shake those trees once in a while.
2) The rest of the time is purely for laughs.
So, while I'm all about "it's a good thing she's doing this on film (finally!), so other people can enjoy her mad skillz other than her dad" to "society's ills are to blame for the way these poor girls are ostracized, and we should exalt them, not demean them" to "I'm glad she needed the money, and thanks for helping me make crunchy Kleenex origami -- here's my $20, send more DVDs."
I know this much: there are some quick-witted guys, gals, soulless agents, talentless directors and porn whores out there who can all take a joke.
As for the rest, the truly bitter, the scary stalker types, the drama queens, the addicted and codependent, all I can say is:
