I was curious where I fit in? I am not married; so does that mean that I am a cracked loser? I must not have a life because I like porn?
Actually, it is rarer for the married couple to watch porn together to help their marriage in my estimation. I do not consider myself a slack-jawed/coke-bottle bottom glasses wearing/knuckle scraping/drooling loser; which I think most porners think that their fans are, you know (fans) the people who actually buy the videos. Ashley Blue does not like her fans. Neither does Brianna Blaze or Taylor Raine to name a few, of many.
I was curious what opinions are of this?
My thought is that porners’ look at the people that buy their videos and come to the signings etc. as a necessary evil and view them with borderline veiled contempt and disgust. Keeping in mind, if we did not buy the videos and pump them up on newsgroups et al than they would not exist.

I think there are a lot of different types of Porn chicks. Some probably do hate their fans. Some probably hate their friends or family, some may hate every living thing. 80% of off camera activity for most girls is validating themselves. Many porn chicks get that validation from fans. Many need fans to make them feel ok about themselves because they suffer low self esteem. Then they complain about them to brag about the fans they have.

"I get hounded for autographs"

In the 20-30 age group I hang around university people and the like, none of my buds respect whores or strippers for that matter. They are a novelty at best. A toy; some eye candy but when it comes to relationships stability is a must, and whores and strippers are not known for stability, responsibility, character, self esteem or loyalty. Yes I know there are exceptions but for the most part that is the general consciences. I agree that it's nice when girls are open-minded but that's open-minded in private.
The wholesome 50's image is gone; even though it was a facade of the media. The fact that you take pleasure in those men's lack of loyalty is sad and speaks for North American society as a whole. Perhaps that is why it is slowly failing as a culture on the world scene, the Europeans are even worse, but not by much.

That's funny,for it seems to me that porn stars do like their fans,mainly the ones that regularly visit them and say "Hi",as well as the autograph/photo seekers that happily get their attention,for it seems like Ms. Hartley is beginning to think that she's a mainstream celebrity that doesn't need fan support to make it on their own(suuuuuurrrrreeeeeee....).

I'd have to disagree with you in regards to Ashley Blue. Perhaps you had a bad experience with her, but when I've had the opportunity to speak to her, she's mentioned how much she appreciates her fans and likes to meet them because if you are a true fan of hers and "get" her personality, you can connect with her on that level. But if you just like Ashley because she takes it in the ass so well, then you probably don't "get" Ashley at all and easily replace her with the next girl that takes it in the ass so well. Also, your post seems to suggest a certain demand of respect from the stars to the fans and that's just a bit unreasonable. They should be glad you buy their movies, but they aren't to be chastised if they don't gush about how great you are and offer to paint your house and scoop your dog's shit up. If you feel like that then the next time you are at McDonalds and they don't lay down the red carpet for you, throw a fit, see what happens, though I suggest you learn how to say 'fuck' in spanish first so it'll make more sense.

In My small stint in the Biz the one thing I noticed is what Kami said that pornchics depend on their fans for their own personal self-worth in many instances...U do not know how many times I heard a girl in the industry tell Me they can have anyone of their fans that they want, or how many autographs or website hits they did that day...so yes in as many things as We disagree on I hafta agree with Kami there

I'm not even in the industry and I KNOW that Kami is right. I believe that self-esteem is the premium grade fuel of the industry. "The Money" is regular unleaded. (Sorry, I've had to be a little more conscious about gas prices lately).
I believe that in the industry, fans take the place of the old guy "friends" who used to treat you nice because you'd eventually show them your tits if they nagged you long enough. Where else can you get so many "compliments" so fast?
In most situations, I would assume that no porn fan actually respects you beyond the limits of your stretched out asshole. When you talk about large fan bases that treat you like a god, who are you really talking about? I doubt they're neurosurgeons and lawyers. Also, does being a god involve "When are you going to show us your piss-hole, beautiful!" or "Your the nicest looking little slut alive!"?
Furthermore, would anyone really bother engaging in "deep, intellectual conversation" with Popwhore if they didn't know what she was really about?
