I would guess that it is a true statement. Porn in general, is looked down upon in society. If you do porn; it a stigma upon your person because you are in the performance. Especially in todays current videos where degradation is the new trend and so it make it worse for the females.

After all, when you meet a fan; he usually purchased - rented the video to see you in action and so you think of all "low life" scenes you were in and a kind of "bad" feeling - resentment towards her fan.

On the other hand, there might be a lot of satisfaction in being "famous" and having attention given to you when you do conventions and such to interact with people who are seeking you out to get your autograph and say things like: "Wow you are so hot"!

Male performers for guys are looked upon as kind of a "luck guy" status. Female public however, despises the male performers in general. Might be alot ladies that have developed an interest in the guys that do the girls but keep it to themselves because of societal norms too.
