The investigation will get ugly. The (now dead) judge asked for extra security after the dude was caught with a homemade knife the day before. Apparently, the bureaucrats at the sheriff's office were a little too slow... The other judges won't put up with the standard cover-up on this one.

He has probably accomplished one goal - his rape retrial will probably be moved out of the county. Of course, so will his capital murder trial.
And a Dahmer-esque ending isn't the only thing he needs to worry about. His next cellmate may be an even bigger, stronger guy, who happens to owe a guard a favor, and who is HIV+...

HIV+ loaded cock or broom handle, both would do the trick. Regardless, prison life is going to be tough on this fucktard I'm thinking. Ten years of appeals, though, and somehow he'll probably get away with life in prison.
Sometimes I think Castro has it right. You fuck up in his country, like this Nichols guy did, and your ass is dead within the week. No appeals, no crocodile tears and praising Jesus ten years down the road. His ass is fucking dead and the victims famillies get the last laugh because they get to see him the way he deserves to be seen -- as a fucking rotting carcass.
It seems like this is right at a time when the American legal system, or rather, politicians, are pulling back on punishing criminals. Didn't the Supreme Court just overturn the law which allowed for the execution of people under the age of 18?
Total insanity. They should toughen the laws, rather than sweeten the pot for these bastards. I guess I can't complain since my country doesn't even have the death penalty -- although I've yet to speak to anyone, aside from one glazed over God lover, that isn't for it.
Yes, I know, for every ten people executed, there's that one guy who could be innocent. Ya, but in the end that's still 10 dead shit nuggets that won't be able to hurt another living soul...
If I sound angry, it's because I am. I hate seeing these fucks filling up the prisons when they should be filling up the graveyards.

Jamie, I agree eith your pro death penalty stance but most places that have it don't use it or even if they do it is years and years before it is enforced. In some ways even the commies are ahead of us.

The hostage chick held a press conference last night. Said she appealed to his human side by mentioning her child, and the husband that she lost four years earlier. According to the chick, she said the best gift that he could give the family members of the people he killed was by being taken alive - by letting the legal system take care of it. This Nichols guy agreed... thus the white flag.
I smell a book and definitely a TV movie deal folks!

It still seems odd that he would go on a rampage, rtry to escape at any means and then give up like that because this woman talked to him- but the world is strange and perhaps he just got tired of running.
