Ya, I did watch Saw, and a screener that arrived on Thursday. Saw was a fucking great movie, despite all the happenstances that occur within. I couldn't believe it when Elwes hacked his foot off, when all he had to do was take off his shirt and use it to reach the cellphone -- like he told his friend to do earlier. Man, that pissed me off.



Snowbeast is great, and I already have it on DVD, but it isn't included in the 50 movie sci-fi boxset. Snow Creature is the one included. I watch Snowbeast all the time. Bo Svenson is the man!



As for my collection, I probably have 500 DVDs, mostly obscure b-titles. I have this Movie Collector program to track them, but I almost never use it. I'm always getting new movies in, so I just never bother.

The fact that Brentwood is actually making some of these rare films accessible again makes me love them.

I don't personally give a shit about how good the transfer is, I just want to see the movies. That's the thrill for me, not how crisp the print is. I have a 20th generation uncut print of Antropophagus that I've watched a million times, same goes for my Venezualan print of Last House on Dead End Street. I guess you could say I'm the furthest thing from a film snob one is likely to find.
