Canada- Singer Alanis Morissette wore a "nude suit" on stage at Canada's equivalent of the Grammys to complain about censorship in the US.
Morissette, who was hosting the Juno Awards in Edmonton on Sunday, wore the cartoon-style bodysuit in protest at TV and radio censorship in the US.
"We can't show nipples on national TV," she said in relation to Janet Jackson's Super Bowl incident.
"I am proud to be able to stand here and do this," she told the audience.
"We live in a land where we still think the human body is beautiful and we're not afraid of the female breast," the singer said, after stepping out of a dressing gown to reveal her "nudity".
Morissette then criticised a radio station in the US for forcing her to change strong language in one of her recent songs.
"They're in an era when they're scared, when there's lots of fear," she said.

I thought it just hit the news that she'd gotten her US citizenship? I thought that was strange, although until then her opinion of US policy didn't mean squat. Now if the Baldwins will just move away like they promised.

Dude, this shit with Alanis happened like months and months ago. She looked like shit, and ya, she had a furry patch where her crotch would be. I think she was wearing a fucking Elvis-style wig too.
Trust me, totally non-erotic.
A buddy of mine went to school with her up in Ottawa before the "You Can't Do That On Television" thing took off. He said she had a big ass. If you see her in that one video, it doesn't look like she's lost it.

According to what my buddy told me, Alanis didn't really hang out with the girls all that much. She was usually that hanger-on chick in the group of guys. This goes back like 20 years, so whatever she's like now is anyone's guess.
I know that her most anti-male song "You oughta know" supposedly refers to Dave Coulier of Full House fame, although many locals believe she was actually talking about former Ottawa Senators goon, Mike Peluso. If this song is what you're using to gauge her hatred of men, then I'm not sure but I personally just think it was a time in her life when she was spurned.
Alanis has had tons of boyfriends, but lately she's been hooked up with Ryan Reynolds of Van Wilder, Blade 3 fame. Apparently they were shacked up in a house out in Vancouver for a bit.
Funny, I guess just last week Alanis became an official American citizen.
Way to go Alanis, we'll see you back in Canada when the money runs out! Pretty sure Avril won't be far behind. I mean seriously, imagine Avril at 40 years old, goofy tie, baggy pants, singing dumbass songs about teen angst...

nobody FORCED Ms. morrisette to change ths lyrics of her song. The radio stations said they wouldnt play her song. She then comprimised her own 'artistic integrity' in order to make a buck.. WOW< She's looking more like an AMERICAN everyday.
