Sometimes, however, I think we overlook who really is making the film. Is it the director, or the cinematographer?
If it wasn't for the martial arts rip-offs and the constant references to Lone Wolf & Cub and Fist of the North Star, Kill Bill might as well be a Richard Robinson film than a Tarantino flick,
I wasn't impressed with Kill Bill 1 or 2 in the least. Everything Quentin's done post-Avery has been a letdown for me. I really do believe that Roger was Quentin's greatest critic and advisor.

just as Pulp Fiction could be credited to Di Leo than Tarantino.
Okay, I'll debate you on this one. Fernando Di Leo, and his body of work, including the film Italian Connection, might have inspired Tarantino, but I'd hardly say that Pulp wasn't an original body of work, or that Quentin didn't direct it. The dialogue and the structure of the film was something totally original, and to say that Tarantino didn't direct that would be just plain wrong in my opinion. It wasn't long after Pulp that Quentin kicked Avery to the curb by the way.

Also, I much prefer Alastair Reid's version of Traffik than Soderbergh's washed up hand me down version.
I agree, Soderbergh's a fucking hack through and through.
Let's check the originality score card, shall we.
Solaris - remake.
Traffic - remake.
Ocean's Eleven - remake.
Erin Brokovich - sucked. It's a fucking tv movie at best.
Full Frontal - sucked. etc...
I think Soderbergh's one of the most overrated hacks in Hollywood. I hate his shit with a fucking passion.
