There is no guarantee that a guy can be a big hit. It is like signing a rookie in basketball millions of dollars before he has ever proved himself. Companies are not going to nurture a guy. Either he can perform or not, period. There is a lot of money tied up with production. So if a guy fails, you just wasted money on the girls, location, etc. Time is money and it is not wasted on developing male talent. Are you trying to be male talent and wish companies were a little more lenient? How about this tell the production company to give you a shot, if you fail to perform you pay for all the production cost. Maybe you will get more work that way.
