i don't know about those nouveau west-side boarding schools, but in the isl and prep-privates the poor kids weren't usually that popular.



Private School is a whole different sociological/psychological animal than Freshman Years at Elite Colleges, and the two are no longer nearly as interdependent as they once were....

If the child finishes top 10 even in a public school, and scores 1300 or more SATS .... AND writes her Admission application essay on something truly UNIQUE like "Growing up the daughter of Porn Star Belladonna" - or something along that line -....I would say she has a GOOD-VERY GOOD chance of getting into an IVY league school. The "uniqueness" of her situation may be viewed by admission boards as contributing to the diversity of the student body (something Harvard used to pay much lip service but has toned it down lately.) Not to mention, the horny 50-something sheltered, stuffy Deans who beat off to Belladonna internet pics on their university-issued computers would love the shot at meeting Belladonna and her ..."Offspring", albeit 17-18 years from now.
