Isn't "Checking Your Sources" the Cardinal rule of journalism? Nothing got by him. He got excited and ran with the story because he thought he had something to get GW. I don't think he ever even admitted he did anything wrong. He can think about that when the IRS is doing a full audit on him for the next 4 years.



Yeah, he screwed up which is what I was nicely saying. He can afford to take on the IRS and never break a sweat. He did his job well for a long time before screwing up. If he had not resigned then Yes I would have fired him. Since he resigned I would let him go gracefully.

Too bad we don't apply the same standards to GW that are applied to Dan Rather. That's a different topic though.
