Saw on www.lukeisback.com (good prop from there again, SM)that people think the ftc was prowling the convention floor AND the "major boards". I know the fact it's on that site doesn't mean squat, but when I followed the links all the references were to people being served warrants for sending spam.
If that's what it's all about, then great. This is long overdue.
For a few years now I have been running my own simple spam tracking system. I own a domain and allocate new unique email addresses to every single company I have any sort of dealings with. Each address is used exclusively for communication between me and that company, and never disclosed by me to anyone else. If I receive any spam to one of these addresses, it can only have come either directly from that company, or from them passing on my address to a spammer.
I have been getting hits from the following sites:
- absolutekim.com (Don't ask, I don't know what I was thinking either.
)
- atmbabes.com
- captainstabbin.com
- climaxcorner.com (Just spotted this one, I'm still a member. Mental note: leech as much content as possible then cancel.)
- hotmovies.com
- realgirlsonfilm.com
- sinnistar.com
- topshelfpussy.com
Porn sites with a clean record so far:
- oralamber.com
- private.com.
(This could still change - it was over a year after my cancellation that I started getting hits to the captainstabbin.com address.)
So there you have it. Based on my experiences, 80% of porn sites cooperate with spammers. It should be noted that billing companies are also in the loop with the email address, so it's possible that in some cases they are the villians and the sites are unwitting participants. Either way, some of these companies and the lowlifes who run them need to get busted, busted HARD, like put out of business. It's the only thing that will force the industry to take notice and clean up.
