Bingo.

They don't care about pissing off judges. In fact, they repeatedly move to recuse judges they believe aren't partial to them. When the motions fail, they keep doing it until it's a self-fulfilling prophecy: the judge by now really doesn't like them, doesn't need the aggrevation, and punts.

I presume you know what they do to opposing attorneys. They've scared the crap out of a lot of people. Thankfully, they produce an unending stream of people who want refunds for money "on account," so they can't do it forever.

They'll keep skating for awhile though, because they're smart enough to do nothing themselves. Their attorneys (at least a few of which are ex-mob attorneys) hire the private detectives that harass their enemies. The whole thing is a racket hiding under work product rules.
