Smartt's reply post possibly supporting that idiotic ADT type news story ( because I would say at least 1/3 of the people there would either believe it or somehow tie it to the war in Iraq) that America is behind the tsunami harkened me back 2 nights ago, to when I watched the new Resident Evil 2 dvd- and I came to the realization that Umbrella corp. is the UN and it is clear that they are behind this whole t virus reanimation of the dead thing. Maybe I should go to a "newspaper" with this realization and they could print it as the "truth" like they seem to want to do (even if it is ridulous).

Well anyway- Toelicker you were right, the dvd rocked. I didn't like the 1st RE too much but i loved this one so kudos to you for the recommendation dude.

BTW- if you are still interested in b movies, Je3an Claude vandamme's new one- Wake of Death was also suprisingly good. It is another revengwe story ala punisher, man on fire but I think you will like it too.

Yup, you summed up what I was saying correctly.
I didn't think I would like RE2 being that the first was not a fav of mine but I did like it. The Nemesis looked kinda kooky in those clodhopper boots and packing heat like it did but I still liked the flick. I just wish they could find time in one of the sure to follow RE's to put in other zombified creatures and mutants that umbrella was working on.
I still haven't watched my copy of open water yet, I think it will be one of those movies that I will have to be in the mood for, in order to put it in that night.

Yeah, if you're expecting some life changing blow you out of the water experience, RE2 will be a letdown. But if you want to be entertained successfully for a couple of hours, it's outstanding. It's a movie. I'm easy.

I saw Open Water last night. I was impressed with much of it, but the ending was very cheesy. I liked seeing her naked.

And Cleet, thanks for the rec on the Van Damme flic. It just so happens that I watched it yesterday. I thought it was pretty entertaining, too.

I just saw RE: Apocalypse for the first time and i loved it! I mean i REALLY loved it. It's the first 2 disc dvd set lately that i've actually been compelled to pop in disc 2 and watch the special features.

That's what I am saying, it is not going to win an Oscar but as pure escapist fun for action fans it was great. I wished that the second disc would have gone more into the mythology of the story and given us some history but all in all a very good dvd.
