The countries hit are not 'first world' countries. Do you understand? Good. They are not able to deal with societal problems as well as the USA or UK can for example. That's the reality.

Your comments seem to imply that 'WE' (Westerners?) are somehow superior when you talk about an untelligent population yet say there is no distinction between human intelligence and education. Have I misunderstood you? A person with a good education in Boston or Seattle isn't necessarily going to be smarter than someone with a equally good education in Jakarta or Bangkok.

My whole point has to do with SYMPATHY and RESPECT for those who have died. I don't care if those countries aren't as developed or moral or whatever...as the US or Canada or other 'first world' countries. It doesn't justify those deaths.
