Best way to do it is get yourself a video camera, scrape together enough cash to shoot one scene and then edit it together. It's easier to get people to listen to you if you have an example of your work.

If you just walk in and tell them that you're great, they won't listen...but if you can show them that you have an interesting visual style or that you're doing something new, then they'll be more likely to give you a chance.
