Any one of these can be fairly easily explained away: Mike might be a nickname, signal corp guys really do have Internet access in the desert (if they're not worried about regs or too busy being shot at), and who really believes soldiers worry about the regulations when filling out a next-of-kin form?
The problem is that when you combine enough low probability events together it looks like "impossible" rather than "unlikely".
And, the only explanation offered was to my comment that she has multiple MySpace pages. The one I knew of didn't mention a Mike, didn't mention a soldier, didn't mention a fiancee (in fact it had a "want to meet" line) ... and that page was still being maintained. The explanation was plausible, but now there is a whole lot more to answer for.
The credibility isn't going to be there without a name, and one that can withstand some scrutiny. There was a Marine with a middle initial M who died that day, but that was in the US, so that won't work.
You get all kinds of people on porn forums. I doubt it ever occurred to her that someone would care deeply enough to do some basic fact-checking, and we had at least two who did so.
