I agree, it sounds like cookies are blocked.

Look in Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Cookies: is Allow sites to set cookies set? Is Keep cookies set to ask me every time?

Click the Exceptions button and look for an entry for www.xxxporntalk.com and make sure it's not set to Block.

Click the View Cookies button; there should be several cookies listed for www.xxxporntalk.com after logging in. I have five but the number isn't important: if you don't have any that's bad.

Finally, it's possible that you have corrupted cookies for some reason. From View Cookies highlight every cookie for www.xxxporntalk.com a click Remove Cookie for each one, then log in again.

I use FireFox 1.0 exclusively.
