Life isn't as simple as most Christians make it out to be. Sure being "saved" is a nice thing after you die but it doesn't put food on the table while you are alive. Being saved has never once bought my kids a Christmas gift to celebrate your lord.

I am not trying to demean or insult any Christians. I am a gonzo producer who used to teach high school computer technology. Unfortunately, making $35k/yr and working sometimes more than 60+ hrs a week wasn't paying the bills so I turned to the adult world. Hours are about the same but the money has been better.

Anyhow, lets stop and think for a moment here. While there are some very intelligent people in porn, the majority aren't smart enough to make it at a real job in the real world. If porn was ever eradicated, where do you think all of these porn people would go? What kind of jobs? Most probably wouldn't get a job especially in the public service category. Many wouldn't be able to afford to pay for retraining or schooling to find a new career which means those that haven't saved the money they have made will have either turned to hooking or welfare. Wow, lovely choices.

Now, I will admit, if the business were to fold up today, Id be the first person freaking out. No way in heck could I go back to teaching without discovery of my life's work being known. Surely my experience in the porn industry isn't going to land me a mainstream directing job in films/tv/movies so naturally I would have to turn to independent film making. Lets just say, costs for productions just went up three fold not to mention having to hire a crew, purchase more equipment, etc...

So please tell me how you are saving me/us? I had another preacher last year try to "save" me. I told him, get me an HDV camera and I would walk away from the business forever. Funny I never heard from him again. How do you propose to save me from the stigma that will follow me around the rest of my life? Just because I get "saved" doesn't mean all the work I have done in the past will vanish. I will STILL face the same criticism in the public eye and STILL will not be able to gain work at a prominent place if history is ever discovered.

So, the balls in your court now. Just how serious are you about saving me? What opportunity could you provide me other than spiritual that will feed my family and allow me earn a living?

Wow I totally went past this post until Jeff bumped it. I would like to know who AcidSex is. That was well thought out and concise. It kind of reminds me of when the Christians went into Africa and totally fucked up things by teaching them about the bible but not how to work the land for food. Not to mention all the problems with AIDS they started, thinking people could actually practice abstinence. The large Christian organizations have fucked up things for people for centuries just by not addressing two needs at once... the need for spirituality and the need for a means of living. The two have to go hand in hand. If there are no resources to support your spirituality it makes it all very futile. I think an understanding God would accept that as a reality, but his so called followers obviously do not.

The post asked a lot of questions that defended the porn industry including people like you who write off people as morons without understanding the points that were being made. I am sure you know that being educated and in porn puts you in the minority. It has definitely grown over the years but if this industry were to close down tomorrow, there would be a ton of ex-porners with no option other than hooking or welfare.
