i'm kinda the same with him, not a great writer but probably the most astute stereotyper/social critic of our time. and he wears white suits and is monty burns. speaking of gay people, did you ever see the stuff they have with james baldwin? he was the most interesting and best-spoken author i've ever seen--if he was writing today we wouldn't even know who frauds like maya angelou are. you could drop the "black" and he'd still be a great writer.
