Where does one get an IQ test?
Universities and some Colleges offer them. Also Mensa offers testing as well.

I tested in college and it was 162, I think.
I was tested two years later and it was in the low 170's, but I can't really remember what it was. I guess my memory isn't a testament, lol.

no idea, i'm an idiot savant at std'ized tests though, videogames after sega genesis were too complex for me. i'd guess 98-99th percentile if sat/lsats have any bearing.

what the fuck? the two conversion charts i could find max out at 140 for 1600, which i didn't get. nada for lsats or gres. apparently chickenmaster is considered "highest genius" and kicks ass versus linus pauling, bobby fischer, and most nobel prize winners. wittgenstein, who i'm convinced is probably the smartest person we know of is projected to be 5 points higher, the rest of my pantheon, Leibniz and goethe are right at the mid 180's. it seems there's a solid argument about modern scores above 145 being inflated, the woman claiming to have 228 is a joke. anything above 200 is defined as immesurable and most close to it are adjusted downwards by 20 or more points. what a mess that test is, geena davis is in mensa and some of the tests they accept AVERAGE over 125. this doesn't apply to chickenmaster, as i think he's very smart despite my fear his enthusiasm will end up leading a cult to mass-suicide at some point, but most people who brag about their iq usually are twats who never figure out how to excel at anything.
nobody ever mentioned stuff like that in college except the people whose greatest achievement was getting into said university and would ride what they did at 17 through adulthood. i'm sure it can tell you who is retarded on the low end not much else. kinda the same as the sats--i can't think of anyone i think is smart who scored absurdly low and predictably whined, but into the 1500+ range the only difference is who had a better breakfast that day, although none are morons. well, some are sociopaths, but pretty much literate.
strangely enough, the smartest kid i know who was undefeated versus the college board dropped outta caltech, got bitten by a bat and had to be hunted down by the cops to make sure he didn't have rabies. the experience was apparently so horrific that he's slyvia plathing it at mcclean's where the rich and famous get institutionalized. he's totally shitting the bed despite being a genius and having a dad worth somewhere north of 140million, i think i'd shrug off bats

James, for some reason I keep thinking you're Matt Casey when I glance at your avatar.  I would guess your IQ is very high, just from what I've read of yours on this forum. As far as I'm concerned, a penchant for clever and creative writing is as good a judge as any. I don't know much about the tests. AFAIK, there are different tests with different ceilings, and ranges. I've seen test on which the highest score possible was a 150. I've always been good with tests, and done well in school. However, I've made some of the stupidest fucking life choices possible. I have some of the most difficulty with basic decisions. I don't think we(humans) really have an accurate model for analysing someone's ability to manipulate ideas to fit and understand different situations. I also think that ability changes throughout one's life for many different reasons. Oh yeah, and this is all just

it probably went down a few over the years as i was tested at 7... but then it was 189.

What kind of IQ test was it? I mean a lot of these so called IQ tests are probably worthless. If however it is one of the recognizes standardized IQ tests- then Kudos to you CM.

IQ mostly just shows your portential for learning in most cases.... it depends on what you do with it... me, i lack any desire to do anything within mainstream scientific bounds so i never went into those fields, my areas i focused on was entertainment and historical research.... i love entertaining people but i would also love nothing more than to devote my life to travelling the globe seeking out the mysteries of our races existence that have been lost to time. I spent all of elementary school in special gifted classes which in reality i believe resulted in my later being maladjusted to regular society.
most people would not post an average or below average score, thats just human nature... Zenman however posted 125, and that is average.
and while we are posting scores.... SAT =1480 ACT=33.

I did the Wechsler test and I am in my early twenties.
Don't worry Kotyo, you may not be smart but society is as a whole structured for the average.
I don't go around bragging about my IQ. I haven't even told anyone except on this forum, bragging about such things gets you nothing.
Gen is right, book smarts amount for little if you don't have the common sense to back it up.

I'm not in the industry. I am from Canada, Vancouver and I heard about this forum from a friend. I was interested in it because of how humorous the posts were and are to this day. thanks toe, i love doing dumb shit too. i think people who can often pull stuff off that most fail at tends to be overconfident versus someone accustomed to working within limits. usually the fuckups are pretty spectacular. for example, i'm not so good at passing the piss-test to play lacrosse as a senior or finding a girlfriend who likes food. somehow harvard's taken me twice and i managed a 1560 and 177 lsat.i feel dirty mentioning this stuff, i avoided the "what college" thread because of it. my father's probably smarter than i am and he reported his car stolen when he forgot he moved it during the day on two seperate occasions. just because you're good with the g side of things doesn't always translate into the a and b.(spearman's g(general intelligence,highly hereditary) + a(sub-factor) + b(specific factor)=how good you are at something)
i'm convinced sometime in the 70's after jensen's shit came out, most of the iq tests are ridiculously inflated. for instance, if you look at what the gaussian distribution curves based on what jensen was using for tests or the stanford-binet, chickenmaster and rob are close to 1 out of 100,000,000. there aren't 300,000,000 people in the US for a reference point. there are almost a dozen widely-used tests out there, many more you cna take for money and almost all of them seem to fall way higher than what stevie gould, murray, etc. use as reference. so much so that there's a widely-used deviation iq formula(s) that adjusts 20 or so points downward for most scores over 140. for example, according to the conversion chart i found based on the weschler test from 1974, the my sat score puts me at 155, a 1600 is 159. ets designs the sats as a general measure of iq, hence the move away from them.
the fun fact of the day is about 70% of mensa members have consistent employment, have a household income of less than 60k and are divorced at 3x the national rate while only 10% have phds and 30% have an ma. "people" is listed as a favorite magazine and they love sci-fi books.
