HCG: How long have you been in this business?
CL: About twelve years.

HCG: How did it all start?
CL: I started house dancing when I was going to college in Florida. I was doing photo shoots in Hustler and High Society at the time. I was going back and forth between Florida and California and then I was offered a contract with Wicked Pictures.

HCG: When was that?
CL: That was way back.

HCG: But how did you get into porn?
CL: I started out dancing and doing magazines and then that is just kind of the way that it went.

HCG: Had you always wanted to be in magazines?
CL: Um…I hadn’t really thought about it. I did one and then another and another…I’ve been in over a hundred and fifty magazines and like fifty-six covers and centerfolds.

HCG: How long were you with Wicked?
CL: Years…maybe four or five years.

HCG: How did that work out?
CL: It worked out good.

HCG: You were pretty happy?
CL: I was. I still love Steve Orenstein over there. He is great. The red haired pornographer.

HCG: What was your favorite movie that you made when you were at Wicked?
CL: Chasin the 50’s was cool, Cover Girl was one of my favorites…Original Wicked Woman was the first one that I did. Those are some of the ones that stand out to me just because of the people in them and I know we had a great time on set.

HCG: Were they directed by Brad Armstrong?
CL: No Brad wasn’t with them at the time. This is before Brad.

HCG: So who did them? Freddie Lincoln?
CL: Yeah Freddie Lincoln did Domination. Jim Enright I think did Original Wicked Woman. Cass Paley did a couple in there too. Jim Holliday. I know I am forgetting people.

HCG: Well this isn’t the exhaustive and definitive Chasey Lain interview, so that is all right. It’s just another interview.
CL: I’m trying to get my facts right here.

HCG: So then you went to Vivid?
CL: Right. Well I was with VCA and Wicked for a couple of films. Back then I did New Wave Hookers 4 and Sex, those were VCA titles, and then I was at Vivid.

HCG: Do you think that New Wave Hookers 4 might have been one of your most popular titles?
CL: It is a popular title. It’s one of them. Greg Dark directed that title.

HCG: What did you think about Greg Dark?
CL: I love him to death. I do a lot of music videos with him.

HCG: So he calls you up still?
CL: Uh huh.

HCG: What was the last music video that he did with you?
CL: The last music video I shot with him, I want to say that it was Sublime’s Wrong Way? Either that or it might have been the Everclear remix of The Boys Are Back In Town, for Detroit Rock City, for that movie. Might have been Gene Simmons though that was there who actually directed that one because he had a big hand in it.

HCG: Amazing. Any recollections from the Sublime music video? I heard that was a fun shoot.
CL: Ron Jeremy played a police officer and he was running down the street waving a stick at me. It was a lot of fun.

HCG: How many years were you with Vivid?
CL: Many years. I couldn’t begin to know.

HCG: Did you retire for a while after that?
CL: I had a little boy, I had a son, and then I was out of the country shooting regular movies.

HCG: Do you take care of your son?
CL: I do.

HCG: Where do you live?
CL: I live in Glendale.

HCG: What nationality are you?
CL: German, Welsh, and Deutsche.

HCG: So you weren’t retired then?
CL: I took time off. I was pregnant and then after I had the baby I didn’t want to work. You know how that is?

HCG: Do you still dance?
CL: Yeah I still dance but I haven’t been out on the road for a while. I’m going to start getting back out on the road probably in February or March, because I have the show in January.

HCG: Is it harder to dance now that you have a son? How old is he?
CL: He will be six in December. I don’t like going out of town for too long.

HCG: So you don’t go on big dance tours?
CL: I don’t like to but I have never gone back to back dancing for weeks…it is just too much.

HCG: Where is the best place to dance in America?
CL: The best place to dance? Miami Beach. There are some places in Texas that are really great. There are a couple of places in New York that are real good.

HCG: Like where?
CL: Out at Goldfingers and then there is the Foxy Something that is out in Rhode Island. Scores doesn’t take features, for all the girls that think Scores is the best, I love Scores and I go there too but…[laughter]…all the Michael Peters clubs, we can’t leave him out too…all the Spearmint Rhino’s, because I have done a lot of stuff with them too…

HCG: Since you’ve come back to performing, you are just freelancing with people that you like?
CL: Over the years I have been locked down and limited by my contracts, but I know everyone, so now is a really good time since I see everybody at shows and they want to do projects with me over the years but I just couldn’t.

HCG: What are some of the projects that you’ve done since you’ve come back?
CL: I shot two movies with Shayla La Veaux. Ron Atkinson shot those. I did some stuff with Richie Zaye. I’m doing some stuff with Adam and Eve coming up in December.

HCG: Who is this shoot for that we are on now?
CL: This is for Rick Davis at Cherry Boxxx, which is under K-Beech. I am shooting with him again tomorrow.

HCG: Is this a feature?
CL: This is sort of a feature. It has a feature feel. It is not gonzo. We’re shooting I Dream of Chasey which is the take off on…you guessed it…I Dream of Jeanie.

HCG: Another Barbara Eden take off?
CL: Yes…yes. She is great.

HCG: Do you think that Barbara Eden when she first starred in the original I Dream of Jeanie could have guessed that there would be SOOOO many porn spin off’s from her show?
CL: She probably couldn’t have. I don’t think she could have imagined.

HCG: Tell me about your website?
CL: My website is in the making. I know there are like eight million pirated sites out there.

HCG: And none of them are real?
CL: No they are not.

HCG: What is the official site going to be? The URL?
CL: I’m not quite sure who I’ve got to go beat down to get the right URL. I don’t want to tell you and then have people be expecting me when I show up.

HCG: Will it end up being something like ‘Assrapedclowns.net’ because nothing else is available?
CL: Probably.

HCG: Chaseysrealgoddamnmuthafuckinsite.com?

HCG: You are very lucky that one of your Satanic fans hadn’t taken it yet.
CL: It was the only thing that took. We were like, fuck it.

HCG: When do you think that your official site might be up?
CL: Soon.

HCG: Who is doing it for you?
CL: Dominic X is working on it and we have a really good accounting team that is working on it and King David Productions is handling the art work and the creative side of it.

HCG: Well that covers the sweet part of the interview, and now I want to ask you a couple of questions that are a bit more intense.
CL: Go ahead and ask me some real questions. I’ve been waiting. Cut to the chase.

HCG: There are some things in your controversial career that you can’t avoid.
CL: Like being dead?

HCG: Like your overdose last year.
CL: Yes apparently I dropped dead at the Consumer Electronics Show last year only that wasn’t me.

HCG: Well obviously you are not dead. There were some serious rumors on the internet swearing that you were dead, which lent credence to the rumors.
CL: They did but they also printed a retraction, because they had to go back and look at this footage of me and Heather Hunter live on air, with Heather’s manager, live on air with the band Digital Underground and my promos at the time of the incident.

HCG: Where did this thing start, in your opinion?
CL: I actually think I know with this one. There was another girl who had come to the show…my badge said Chasey Lain from Pleasure Productions…

HCG: Because you were signing with them at the time?
CL: I was and by the way I have two more movies coming out with them. I know that Chasey’s Back is already out but there are two more already shot waiting to be released…not to change the subject.

HCG: Right.
CL: Digital Playground, another adult production company, had gotten a girl into the show and her badge read Tiffany Chase. My real name is Tiffany. And so I think there was an incident with that girl. I’m not sure. I do believe that she might have died. Everybody just looked at her badge and assumed that it was me. Tim Connelly did go back and look at the footage later. I found out about the whole thing driving across the State line coming back into California when my phone started ringing and everyone just wanted to know if I was still alive. I was like, what the hell are you talking about?

HCG: Tim had said at the time that he was very concerned for your well-being. Do you think that changes anything?
CL: But nobody got the toxicology report, nobody got the police officers badge number, if there really was one, and it wasn’t looked into, it wasn’t properly investigated, and I wasn’t even staying at that hotel.

HCG: People were saying that you didn’t show back up for Pleasure the rest of the week to sign.
CL: No. I was there. There were some mistakes but it had nothing to do with that. The incident that happened, my supposed death, was on the last day of the show.

HCG: Well, congratulations, you have just made it through your first drama question.
CL: Okay.

HCG: Well handled I might add.
CL: Thank you.

HCG: My next question is in regards to the numerous and sundry rumors of you purported drug abuse.
CL: Yes I did go through drug abuse but that is over now.

HCG: Can you tell me a little about it?
CL: It was never…that was when I wasn’t working, at that time, and I had a lot of free time to get in trouble. I’ve been working fifteen years, so, I went big, and now I am back down to small.

HCG: All right then.
CL: It was fun for about a minute.

HCG: And you are clean now?
CL: I am clean now.

HCG: And showing up to all of your shoots?
CL: I am here and I am alive.

HCG: What other bizarre rumors have you heard about yourself?
CL: I have heard everything. I really don’t know them unless they are really bad, like the dropping dead thing. I have a six year old son and that was really bad because they found out before I did that I was supposedly dead.

HCG: Rumors of your death had been greatly over exaggerated.
CL: I’m not sure that it is the first time either.

HCG: Who is spreading your death around?
CL: I don’t know but there might be rumors of a 187 soon. I might be making a few trips out to the desert…just kidding. You know, Steve Hirsch from Vivid for years and years forbid us, and I do mean FORBID US, to even look at the internet because we would all end up in his office crying. So unless I can’t avoid it I just don’t even address it.

HCG: So you are not really even reading all this stuff?
CL: No.

HCG: What do you think you want to do with the future?
CL: I am shooting a lot and I just want to work. Hopefully everyone will enjoy my product. I want to see more of my fans. I miss them. I haven’t really seen them in years. I have been at home doing the mom thing and being resurrected and all, that is really hard you know.

HCG: I guess it is pretty hard being resurrected like that and all.
CL: Who knew?

HCG: Is there a white light at the end of the tunnel like they say?
CL: I don’t know since I was nowhere near death.

HCG: Anything you want to say in closing?
CL: I just hope that everyone enjoys the product that is coming out, like Chasey’s Back, which is out. I am doing guys again. I know I quit for a while but I am fucking guys again.
