The unfortunate mistake by telecommunications giant Telstra in Australia has made a relatively unknown porn site one the most looked at websites in the world over the last 48 hours.

Telstra congratulated Australian Idol winner Casey Donovan with half page advertisements in Sydney and Melbourne on Monday but printed the incorrect URL for her website. Instead of caseydonovan.com.au, they directed people to porn site caseydonovan.com.

The cock-up has sent traffic to the porn site through the roof. Caseydonovan.com has registered an increase in traffic 1200 times higher than what it had three days ago.

The promotions manager for Telstra's online brand BigPond has issued an apology to Casey and her family. BigPond apologises for any embarrassment or offence to Ms Donovan, her family and to anyone who has accessed the incorrect website," Mr Middleton said in a statement.

Casey's single 'Listen With Your Heart' will be released on November 28. Her album will come out on December 12.
