Okay, but that's not what you said, and that's not what I asked. Just curious. Remove girls from the equation. Obviously depression is usually an underlying factor, but that is kind of my point.
I too think it's silly, from my prespective, to shoot one's self over a girl. But there are any number of situations, sans firing squad, that could be imagined, with which to answer my question.
Please disregard any situation in which imminent death is a condition no matter what you do.
My question still stands, unanswered.

I didn't ask if you could imagine any situation in which you would kill yourself. I asked if you thought you could imagine every type of human torment well enough to say for sure you could never kill yourself.
Enough. My point is, that to say what CM said is arrogant, and a huge failure of imagination. You have no idea how you might react to some of the worst misery available.

No I would never claim I could imagine every type of human torment. The only time I could imagine terminating myself is if I felt it was necessary to save someone I cared enough for. As far as mental or physical pain due to loss, deaseas, cancer or etc. I would not terminate myself for those reasons.

My comment had no lack of imagination within context of "killing myself because my girlfriend broke up with me."
In the light you have changed it to. Yes I agree it would have lacked imagination and would have been arrogant, but I never said it in your context. You need to rationalize your thoughts.

Okay I'm tired and have too much on my mind.
I was thinking of the Tragic news for Eva Angelina thread.
Suicided nevertheless is not a solution but rather a way out. Putting a gun to your head because of problems in your life is lack of imagination within itself. I'm sorry about your friend, death is always a hard thing to deal with but don't validate suicided with unimaginable grievances, everything can be corrected with time and therepy. Testimonials of people who have survived suicide have proven this time and time again.

What helped you get over your depression? Was it time? Counseling? Drugs?
I never said you should just get over it. I'm trying to say that suicide is unimaginative and a easy way out of your situation. You didn't commit suicide... are you happy you didn't? Or do you think your problems would have been solved a lot quicker by painting the wall with your brain. Suicide is a bitch way out not only because you never find a resolution to the issue you had, you also hurt the lives of others around you. Therefor making you life's bitch. Get out easy and everyone else pays the price.

Got over it with Prozac. A lot of depressed people are that way only because their neurons don't fire properly. There's no imaginative solution our of that sort of situation. If there hadn't been Prozac I probably wouldn't be typing this right now.
As far as being happy about not offing myself, I don't think it really matters. I'm not depressed, but all my formative years were spent immersed in depression so I didn't really develop properly, emotionally, socially, or psychologically.
In my case, there was not only person who reached out their hand to help, at least not in any meaningful way. My parents are useless, so I really would have no compunction about hurting them. They are non-entities.

Well, even a good night's sleep changes my perspective to such a degree that I wouldn't dare stating how I would or would not react to certain levels of suffering.  CM, I apologize for anything I said that was rude. You and I just have a disagreement, and it probably doesn't belong in our wonderful forum that celebrates comedy, pussy, and in my case, feet . I just think it is folly to say that you know what you would or would not do if you found yourself in say, acute, relentless, accelerating pain that no painkiller could touch. I'm certainly not saying suicide is the right thing to do. But for some, well I certainly don't think less of them. Zen, I can relate to what you write. I have taken many SSRI's.
