the french are pretty badass when compared to the rest of the world, they just have the misfortune of having the germans and brits(partially norman anyhow) as direct competition. caesar was freaked out of them, they managed to subjugate, pillage and colonize tons of places in the new world, asia and africa. compare france to say, togo or myanmar and they're not looking so helpless. easily in the top 10 most-aggressive countries alltime.
