Kenny Knoll vs Kimberly Kane
On October 19th 2004, Kenny Knoll sent a message. Not just to Kimberly Kane, but to all those people who choose not to honor their obligations.
Without getting into specifics, Ms. Kane did not abide by her verbal contract with Dragonlife Pictures by refusing payment for a website that was created for her. So Kenny (owner of Dragonlife pictures) took legal action in small claims court resulting in a victory for webmasters everywhere.
This does not apply to just webdesigners, though. You might be a producer, talent, a webmaster, a cameraman…don’t take anyone’s shit. If you’re getting screwed, and not getting paid (forgive the pun), do something about it!
Hold on!...Before you run down to the courthouse and start filing, keep in mind that I’m not attempting to make everyone sue-happy. This is a Last Resort! Which means: only after you have exhausted every other option, should you consider a lawsuit. Remember…you might not win the judgement. You’ll just look like a dumbass, and still not have your money.
