Tim never left series TV, he just had his shitty show re-tooled over and over again until they gave up. His politics have nothing to do with anything, as much as you want to glom on to him with your projections. Plus, he's a convicted felon.
They didn't bring him back due to Roseanne (((Barr))) 's success, they just put him back in a cheaper version of his old format so you retro-gressives would feel comfortable not having to accept new ideas. Make ABC Great Again

In its final season on ABC, Last Man Standing averaged 8.3 million viewers and a 1.7 demo ratings on Friday nights, making it the network's No. 2 comedy behind Modern Family.

CMT was reportedly interested in saving the show after ABC's decision, but with Last Man Standing coming from an outside studio, 20th Century Fox Television, it proved too expensive (which was likely a factor in ABC's decision to cancel it as well).
