That's mostly a Catholic thing, though some Anglicans and Eastern Orthodox do it every so often. I think her church is strictly protestant, evangelicalish but not linked to a specific denomination. The friend is her sponsor, it seems. The Luvinlioness is a work in progress in Jesus's ledger.
