I would operate a longer con on Ron than simple theft for a bigger payoff. That sounds more like a Tritone move. Immediate (not very profitable) gratification. Besides the reward is low in that scenario. I am guessing just like a chick at a nightclub, he carries only an ID and a phone -- no wallet -- expecting everyone else to pay the freight.
