Diabetes sucks. I've had it for 30 years now. There's a running joke about how they've been telling newly diagnosed diabetics that they're "5 years from a cure" for about the last 75 years or so. At least the treatment options are a little better now. The original lancing device I had to use for finger sticks resembled the device below. It would make a horrible creaking sound when you'd load the spring.
