I live in a beautiful area. This is on Cumberland Mtn at the Pinnacle overlook at the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Thats a small private lake in the pic. Fern Lake.

I grew up near these cliffs. This was pretty much my view out the kitchen window.

This used to be called Ni$$er head rock. Now it's called Old Stone Face. We had a ridge called Ni$$er ridge also. Its now a family name ridge.

This is the Sand Cave in the Cumberland Gap National Historic park. Its about a 6 mile hike up on the mountain. No vehicles of any kind are allowed. I was there many times as a kid and teen. It used to have multi-colored sand and many people had jars with layers of the colors of sand. Over the years with so many visits it's not as dramatic as before.
The park would de-ball you for taking sand out now.

So they finally opened up a Krispy Kreme here in Anchorage and I passed by there earlier. There was a fucking line of cars around the building for the drive thru. The last time people went nuts like this was when Olive Garden opened up a restaurant here. Now almost no one goes there.

Does it have the bakery on premises? If not, don't bother with it. Unless they are right off the conveyor belt, they are not worth the effort. Many locations now are only retail outlets and get the donuts delivered by truck each morning. Fuck that noise. Krispy Kremes must be "Fresh Hot Now" or they taste completely different.

Pretty sure it has its own bakery given that it is the only Krispy Kreme in the entire state. I'd wager most people up here have never tasted one that was freshly cooked. People used to take advantage of the lack of local Krispy Kreme donuts and fly up crates of them to sell at fundraisers.

When they're hot and fresh, they dissolve on your tongue like cotton candy. After about a half hour, they solidify and become yeasty and stringy. Still tasty, but a different beast.

They opened a Dunkin Donuts a few years ago in a close by town. Couldn't get in the place for weeks. Then the manager made off with the dough [pun intended] and no more DD.

I was so happy they put a DD in down the street from me, cause my deli is closed on Sundays. Then they stopped carrying lemon donuts and I got sad.

There used to be a Kerns bakery in town but left long ago. The DD was very unique to the area. I think the closest one is about 50 miles away in Knoxville. This area never keeps anything good. Not enough people with money and too many bible thumpers.

Just pulled about 2lbs of packed in lint out of my dryer that made it past the shitty lint filter. It's one of the crappy, older Maytag dryers that was manufactured prior to their acquisition by Whirlpool. And because the thing made literally no sense in how it was assembled, I couldn't get it to come apart and had to use a coat hanger and my vacuum's narrowest wand attachment to suck all the lint out. I'm lucky my house didn't burn down the last time I dried clothes.

I'll prolly order something like that, but for now I'm gonna just pick up this lint wand thingy that Lowe's sells for this purpose. I clean the lint screen every single time I use the dryer, so I never expected there to be so much crap packed down in there. I only realized there was a problem because there was so much lint down there that the screen would no longer push down all the way.
