Murder charges have been filed against three women, including two sisters, and a man stemming from a robbery gone awry Tuesday in Palos Township that left one man dead and a second injured.

One of the women charged had twice met the owner of the home where the shooting took place to have sex for money, prosecutors said at a bond hearing Thursday at the Bridgeview courthouse. The homeowner, who has a valid firearm owner identification card, shot two male assailants, one of whom survived and was charged, after they brandished knives in a robbery attempt, prosecutors said.

Bail was set at $2 million for Brandy Marshall, 19, of Crown Point, Ind., although public records show her living in Lynwood and Dyer, Ind.; her sister, Paige Marshall, 20, of Hobart, Ind.; Sarah Risner, 20, of Crown Point, Ind. and Tyler Gulli, 23, of Portage, Ind. Another accomplice, Anthony Dalton, 19, of Cedar Lake, Ind., was shot and killed during the incident. Along with murder, the four who were in court are also charged with home invasion.

Dalton's accomplices are being held liable in his death because it occurred while they were committing a crime, prosecutors said.

Brandy Marshall has a 10-month-old child and a 10th grade education while her sister has a 1-year-old son and earned her GED after completing the 8th grade, their attorney, Assistant Public Defender Dan Nolan, said.

"None of these people shot anybody or hurt anybody," Nolan said during Thursday's court appearance.

Risner has two children, a 17-month-old and a 6-month old. She is represented by private attorney Joseph DiNatale.
